Comptia

In a couple of weeks I will be in Las Vegas for the CompTIA ChannelCon event. As I'm planning my calendar I thought I'd make a quick note on why I got involved in CompTIA and why I firmly believe it's a great resource for the IT Channel.

Firstly, cleverer people than I have attempted to explain what CompTIA does. It's rather like trying to describe the plot of The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman in under 500 words or wrap your head around the splitting of a complex restaurant bill. So, with that in mind, I am going to concentrate on the Communities part and in fact only one specific community. The UK Channel Community.

I have been a member of the UK version for many years and am now proud to be on the UK Channel Community Executive. I joined when I was still at Orchid IT in Derby and have been attending meetings ever since.

If I look through my totally fictitious "MSP Contacts Little Black Book" it's noticeable that a lot of really great contacts and good friends have come via CompTIA. The MSP community in general is always open and sharing, but the CompTIA communities seem to take it to the next level.

The face to face meetings are a great way to meet other people in the community and help grow your business and the sessions are really informative too.

If you've not been to one yet I would strongly recommend you check them out. I'll be in London for the annual EMEA Conference in October too and then all of the community meetings in 2019.

For more information about the UK Channel Community click here or drop me a line...

I look forward to seeing you there.
